FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW DOES THE POINT SYSTEM WORK?
The points system is calculated for your results as a percentage according to your age against current world records. The higher you perform compared to the records, the more points you earn. You then also earn an additional point per kilometre you run.
DO I NEED TO ENTER ALL 6 EVENTS?
No. We take your four highest point scoring results to calculate your final points and therefore need only to enter your 4 preferred events. If you are really keen, you can have a crack at all 4 though to maximise your chances of achieving the highest points of which we take your 4 best results.
CAN I ENTER DISTANCES SHORTER THAN ULTRA LENGTH AND STILL EARN POINTS TOWARDS FINAL RESULTS?
No. Points are only earned for results from Ultra distances. The further you run, the more points you earn.
IS THERE A COST TO ENTER THE ULTRA SERIES WA POINTS COMPETITION?
Apart from the cost to enter the individual events, there is no additional costs associated with participating in Ultra Series WA.
HOW DOES ULTRA SERIES WA MAKE MONEY?
Put simply, we don’t. We only try to cover costs through sponsorship and merchandise sales. Everything we make, goes straight back into the events for improvements and increased prize money.
I’M NOT THE FASTEST RUNNER, WHY SHOULD I BE INVOLVED WITH ULTRA SERIES WA?
For starters, it is free to enter and the points system is age based and rates you on your performance compared to age world records in your category. If you run further and can achieve a fair pace, you are in for a good crack. It is an incredibly fair and open competition.
HOW DO I EARN BONUS POINTS?
Bonus points are rewarded in several ways:
- First 3 place getters both male and female in each Ultra race.
- Bonus points for AURA membership
- Bonus Points may be awarded at some races with announcements on how to earn them at race briefings, morning of events.
CAN I ENTER THE 3 HOUR AT LIGHT HORSE ULTRA AND STILL EARN POINTS?
